Santos Brasil has signed a commercial agreement with the Belo Horizonte International Airport to become its new provider of logistics services integrated with the Port of Santos.
The operation, which will start in the next few days, involves road transport of fractional cargo (DTA Hub model), with a weekly frequency, connecting the Minas Gerais airport and the Santos port.
It also covers loading and unloading at the company’s Industrial Logistics Center (Clia) in Santos and the delivery and removal of products across the port.
With the partnership, Santos Brasil expands its business to the southern regions of Minas Gerais and the state capital, serving the airport’s Multimodal Logistics Hub, which will receive investments of around R$ 30 million this year to expand cargo reception.
This new contract is in line with the company’s strategic planning, which has multimodal logistics as one of its growth pillars, expanding the offer of services beyond the port and consolidating itself as a logistics operator that goes from the port to e-commerce.
According to the commercial director of logistics at Santos Brasil, Wagner Toffoli, the partnership with Belo Horizonte International Airport increases competitiveness in the Minas Gerais market.
“With an initial focus on LCL (Less Container Load) operations, this new service connects us to the diversification and business expansion strategy of our Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) customers, consolidating us as the logistics company with the largest reach in the segment,” says Toffoli.
