Santos Brasil breaks productivity record at Tecon Vila do Conde

Tecon Vila do Conde, the container terminal operated by Santos Brasil in Barcarena (PA) port, achieved a remarkable milestone in May by setting a new monthly productivity record. The terminal recorded an impressive rate of 37.48 Movements per Hour (MPH), a measure that quantifies the number of container loadings and unloadings on vessels docked at the terminal’s wharf. This accomplishment reflects the efficiency and effectiveness of the terminal’s operations.

Tecon Vila do Conde has consistently demonstrated high productivity since the beginning of the year, maintaining an average MPH of 36.2 during the first quarter, which stands as the terminal’s best performance in its history.

Roberto Teller, the Director of Port Operations at Santos Brasil, highlights that Tecon Vila do Conde is strategically located in a region experiencing faster growth rates compared to the rest of the country. As a result, the company has made significant investments to expand capacity and enhance operational efficiency. “Our customers have already begun to witness the positive outcomes of these efforts. In fact, in April, the terminal achieved its highest customer satisfaction score in history,” Teller affirms.
