Santos Brasil launches 17th Sustainability Report

Santos Brasil has just released its latest Sustainability Report, now available for download on the company’s website. This marks the 17th edition of the report published by the company, with the last 15 reports aligning with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Coordinated by Santos Brasil’s Sustainability, Corporate Communications, and Investor Relations departments, the report encompasses all operating units and monitors socio-environmental externalities. It provides a comprehensive economic and financial results overview, presenting audited data with external assurance. The report has been approved by the Sustainability Committee and serves as a means for the company to communicate its challenges, achievements, and results to stakeholders.
For Santos Brasil, 2022 was a year of consolidation characterized by the diversification, modernization, and expansion of operations supported by a firm commitment to environmental, social, and governance practices.
One noteworthy achievement is Santos Brasil’s inclusion in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of B3, the Brazilian stock exchange. This prestigious index comprises a select group of companies recognized for their commitment to the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) agenda.
Regarding environmental initiatives, the company reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 16%, water consumption by 9.2%, and waste generation by 4% compared to the previous year. Santos Brasil launched its 1st Social Call for Incentive Projects in the social sphere, benefiting approximately 85,000 people. Additionally, the company achieved a significant milestone of 28% women in leadership positions, representing a 44% increase compared to 2019.
