Santos Port Authority Initiates Call for Lease of Liquid Bulk Terminal STS 08

The Santos Port Authority (APS) issued a call for interest in the lease of area STS 08 on the right bank of the port, situated in Alemoa and designated for liquid bulk cargo, particularly fuels. The announcement, made on Wednesday (27/12), is supported by the recent delegation of powers to APS for bidding, managing, and deciding on concessions.
According to Anderson Pomini, President of APS, the offering of STS 08 underscores the competence of the public authority: “The public port authority has the duty to plan the growth of the port, given the historical deficit in installed capacity for liquid bulk handling at the Port of Santos,” he stated. “The lease of area STS 08 brings expectations of generating new job opportunities during the contractual period, including direct and indirect employment and income effects,” Pomini added.
The deadline for expressing interest is 30 days. STS 08 encompasses 168,300 m² and had previously gone up for auction in November 2021 with no takers. Now, APS will proceed with a lease contract if only one bidder exists. A competitive bidding process will be conducted in the case of two or more.
