Santos Port Authority plans BRL 7 billion investment for 2024

The Port Authority of Santos (SPA) has planned a number of projects for 2024, totaling R$ 7 billion (Brazilian Reais). Dredging the channel to -16 meters, dredging the berths between warehouses 12A and 23, refurbishment of the Barnabé Island wharf, improvements to the Right Bank-Alemoa ring road, installation of the image monitoring system (VTMIS), phase 2 of the Left Bank Ring Road, and the Santos-Guarujá tunnel are among the key initiatives.
APS President Anderson Pomini announced these projects during a press conference on Friday morning (17/11) at the company’s headquarters. The event was attended by directors of Business Development and Regulation, Eduardo Lustoza; Administration and Finance, Bernadete Bacellar do Carmo Mercier, as well as superintendents and managers.
The APS president noted the delegation of powers announced by the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, is a facilitator for carrying out these important initiatives for the operation and expansion of the Port of Santos.
He also discussed ongoing caretaking efforts, the solution of trucker issues through the creation of new parking facilities, the allocation of areas for port expansion with the revision of the port polygon area, the Valongo Park, the revitalization of the bike path on Avenida Mário Covas, contests for the new APS logo, and other topics ranging the past seven months.
