The Santos Port Authority (APS) will commission studies to identify potentially contaminated areas in 11 regions within the polygon of the Port of Santos. The online bidding took place last Monday (13), and the proposals from companies participating in the tender will be made public on December 7 at 10 a.m.
In a statement, APS reported that the hiring should “meet the Environmental Liability Monitoring Program conditions under Operating License 1,382/2017 for the Port of Santos.
The program envisages the development of studies to identify potentially contaminated areas in all regions under the administration of the Port Authority.
Areas in the following regions in Santos will be analyzed: Alemoa, Saboó, Valongo, Paquetá, Outeirinhos, Macuco, Estuário, Ponta da Praia, Ilha Barnabé. Analyses are also planned on the Left Bank of the Port, in Guarujá and the area of the Itatinga Hydroelectric Plant in Bertioga.
According to APS, the Environmental Liability Monitoring Program encompasses the constant modernization of the Environmental Study for the Regularization of the Port of Santos. The goal is to identify changes in the quality of soils and groundwater in the Organized Port area that may pose an ecological and human health risk. “The division of the Organized Port aims to optimize the execution of studies in delimited geographical areas.”
Contract
The contract will be valid for 18 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of five years. Regarding the contract value, the Port Authority reported that “it is confidential, considering the presentation of proposals from bidders, whose competition is based on the offer of the lowest overall service price.”
APS says there is no deadline for the conclusion of the bidding process, as the qualification at each stage will be “subject to careful verification.”
Procedure
The bidding notice was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) on the date of the electronic bidding. Interested companies could submit their proposals to the APS headquarters (Avenida Conselheiro Rodrigues Alves, s/nº, in Macuco), in Santos, or online.
