Earlier this afternoon, São Carlos mayor Airton Garcia, deputy mayor Edson Ferraz, and tourism director Rykoff Aidar were at Fazenda Sapé to accompany the work carried out by the agricultural company Agro Alvo in the beef cattle export sector which exports beef to several countries. At the time, logistical preparations were being organized for the shipment of 5,000 head of Nelore and Red and Black Angus cattle to Saudi Arabia.
DataLiner data shows that in 2020 the volume of live cattle exported dropped in comparison to the previous two years.
The mayor was surprised by the area managed by Tiago Gianlorenço and Marcelo Guadalini. “It is a sector that involves a lot of income and work, from food and veterinary care to transportation and labor; everything is done by professionals from São Carlos. I congratulate everyone who is involved in this work; agribusiness is strong in São Carlos ”.
Guadaline and Gianlorenço thanked the men for being present. “We have the necessary support to carry out the project that requires sensitive logistics, as these are living beings. We are grateful for the presence of Airton, Édson, and Ryck, who has been a partner for a long time. This link between agribusiness and the government is important for routine demands. Business tourism is important for the city’s economy and deserves to be recognized”.
The animals will be transported in trucks regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture to the port of Santos, where they will be loaded on specific ships complying with animal safety and welfare and shipped to Saudi Arabia on a 23-day trip.
