The ports of São Francisco do Sul, north of the state, and Imbituba, south, closed in 2024 with record cargo volumes. SCPar manages both. São Francisco do Sul totaled 17 million tons, an increase of 200,000 tons compared to 2023. Once again, the activity was concentrated on grain shipments, with the export of 7 million tons of soybeans and 2.4 million tons of corn.
On the imports side, highlights included steel products and steel, with 3.9 million tons, and fertilizers, with 2.6 million tons.
At the Imbituba port, 8.3 million tons were handled throughout 2024, an increase of 500,000 tons compared to 2023. Bulk cargo accounted for 79.2% of the total, with 3.7 million tons of minerals and 2.9 million tons of agricultural products.
The chart below compares container exports and imports at the Port of Imbituba. It is worth noting that Datamar’s data only takes long-haul operations into account, not considering cabotage, transhipments, etc.

Imports accounted for 40.5% of the total, with the United States, Chile, China, and Colombia being the most frequent origins. Cabotage (9.3% of the total) and transshipment of products (0.8%) complete the picture.
