A survey by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) revealed that 45.2% of the 290 industries surveyed rated the second half of 2024 as better than the same period in 2023. Another 27.9% considered the situation unchanged, while 26.9% reported a decline.
The study highlighted progress in several key indicators: 44.1% of companies reported increased production volume, 44.2% saw growth in domestic sales, and 24.8% experienced improved export performance.
However, many companies indicated stability or declines in these indicators, reflecting the sector’s ongoing challenges.
Expectations for the first half of 2025 point to stability in production volume (45.3%), domestic sales (44.1%), and exports (53.7%). However, only 34.8% of businesses expressed plans to hire new employees in the coming year.
The “São Paulo Industry Trends” survey was conducted between December 2 and 18, 2024, covering manufacturing industries of various sizes across the state. The results depict a cautious sector with positive signs of recovery.
