Exports of fresh chicken meat are heading towards a new monthly record, according to data from SECEX (the foreign trade secretariat) analyzed by CEPEA/ESALQ/USP (USP’s center for advanced studies in applied economics). In just 12 business days, the country shipped 256,600 tons of the product, or 21,400 tons per day.
See below a history of Brazilian exports of chicken meat since 2018. Data are from DataLiner:

The volume represents increases of 34% over August and 40.5% over September 2020. If the pace is maintained, the volume could reach 470,000 tons and surpass the level observed in July 2018, the highest so far, when 463,100 tons were exported, according to ABPA (the Brazilian animal protein producers’ association).
