South Korea clears nine Brazilian poultry and pork plants

According to Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, South Korea has cleared another nine poultry and pork processing plants to export meats to the Asian country (five pork plants and four poultry plants). The decision followed South Korea’s last auditing visit in late 2018. According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), 35 of Brazil’s poultry and pork plants are now authorized to export to South Korea.
Brazil exported 110,000 tons of chicken meat to South Korea in 2018, up 27% year-on-year, ABPA reported. The following DataLiner graph shows Brazil to South Korea poultry and pork export trends for the last ten years:
