The Santos Port Authority (SPA) hired the Ezute Foundation to develop that project for the Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS) for the Port of Santos. The Ezute Foundation is a private non-profit organization specializing in technology and management.
VTMIS expands the vessel traffic monitoring system by incorporating technological equipment and tools into the management of the port as a whole, with the objective of ensuring safety and efficiency in port operations, safeguarding human lives in the sea, and the preservation of the environment.
The VTMIS’s implementation at the Port of Santos was interrupted in 2018 as a result of the end of the contracted term. Upon taking over SPA in March 2019, the current administration resumed the project with the premise of using the resources that had already been acquired by the company in the past.
Given that the original project dates back to 2010, SPA concluded that a new project was needed to include more recent technological developments such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, machine learning, among others.
The contract is valid for a period of 12 months, which started in the month of November, and foresees an investment of R$ 4.7 million. The document establishes that Ezute Foundation will survey the current equipment situation to assess whether they will remain part of the new project or not. The Foundation shall also conduct feasibility studies, and prepare the budget for the new basic project. The findings will be used as a basis for completing the VTMIS implementation process at the Port of Santos.
