Aug, 10, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202232
The navigation in the Port of Santos was interrupted in the late morning of this Wednesday (August 10) morning due to bad weather. With the arrival of the cold front and the gusts of winds approaching 100 km/h, vessel traffic was not authorized.
According to São Paulo pilotage authorities, the paralyzation of navigation for security reasons occurred from 11:50 am this Wednesday (10).
A change in the weather had already been forecast in the region. Last Monday (8), the Brazilian Navy issued an alert of the passage of a cold front with the forecast of strong winds and undertow in the cities of the Santos region on the coast of São Paulo. The gusts of the winds can reach 100 km/ H. The cyclone should remain in the area until Thursday (11).
Also, according to the Navy, the sea should be very rough along the coastline between the states of Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo. The forecast points to a tidal undertow with waves of up to 3.5 meters.
