Sugar rush: Brazil earnings with sales of sugar and molasses tops 2021 yearly profit

According to government data released on Monday, September 26, Brazil exported 2.37 million tonnes of sugar and molasses up until the fourth week of September (16 working days), with a daily average higher than in the same period of 2021 and revenue higher than last year’s profits, US$ 946.19 million.
In the last week alone, Brazil exported more than 560,000 t.
In August, Brazil exported 3.04 million tonnes of sugar and molasses. In the entire month of September 2021 (21 working days), product exports totaled 2.54 million t and revenue of US$ 857.32 million.

According to the analysis of tonnes per day on average, Brazil exported 147.97 thousand t/day of sugar and byproducts, more than 22% more than the amount seen in September 2021 (121.35 thousand t/day). The cost of shipping has increased by more than 18% to $399.60/t.
