Sugar: vessel line-up in Brazil reveals 2.596 mt in future shipments

The total number of ships in the line-up for sugar cargoes in Brazilian ports stood at 65 in the week ended June 07 compared to 72 in the previous week (May 31), according to a survey put forth by maritime agency Williams Brasil.

According to the sugar line-up report, more than 2.596 million tonnes of sugar are expected for loading, up from the 3.054 million forecasts in the previous week.

Most of this volume (1642 million tonnes) should depart Brazilian shores through the port of Santos. Other significant departure points are the Port of Paranagua, in Paraná, with 857,483 tonnes; Maceió, in Alagoas, with 46,000 tonnes; São Sebastião, in São Paulo, with 44,530 tonnes; and Suape, with 5,400 tonnes.

The sugar to be exported consists of two varieties: VHP (Very High Polarization) and TBI (Thermo Bacterial Invert) types. The quantity of VHP sugar to be exported is 2.977 million tonnes, while the amount of TBI sugar to be exported is 77.53 thousand tonnes.

The agency’s report considers vessels already berthed, those offshore waiting to moor, and those expected to arrive by July 17.
