Last Friday (28), Portos do Paraná published the bidding notice to auction a port lease area called PAR25. The announcement came after the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) approved the project, which is part of the planned port lease agreements aimed at regularizing the operation of port areas and expanding and modernizing the logistics infrastructure of the Export Corridor at the Port of Paranaguá.
Covering an area of 43,459 square meters, PAR25 is located within the Organized Port of Paranaguá. Once the process is completed, Portos do Paraná will achieve an unprecedented milestone among Brazilian public ports: fully regularizing 100% of its operational areas.
“With the PAR25 auction, we are regularizing all areas, ensuring investments in port infrastructure. We are also providing legal certainty over these spaces, offering the market greater efficiency in crop exports through partnerships with the private sector,” highlighted Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paraná.
The project will be offered to the market alongside PARs 14 and 15 during a public auction session scheduled for April 30 at the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3). Investments in Paraná’s port infrastructure are expected to reach BRL 2.2 billion. The three terminals are dedicated to the export of bulk vegetable commodities, such as soybeans, corn, and meal.
“The estimate is that these investments will double the capacity for agricultural exports through the Paraná port,” projected the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho. The PAR25 area alone is set to receive an investment of BRL 233.5 million, with an additional BRL 331.6 million contribution, totaling BRL 565.1 million.
According to the National Secretary of Ports, Alex Ávila, this auction at the Port of Paranaguá represents another step toward modernizing and increasing the capacity for Brazilian crop exports. “The port lease policy, with investments in ports across the country, drives economic growth and fosters socioeconomic development,” he emphasized.
Further details about the PAR25 auction are on the Portos do Paraná website.
