TCU to consider BR-364/365 highway concession

Brazil’s Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcisio Freitas, met with the officials of the Federal Court of Audit (TCU) this afternoon to discuss the concession of the BR-364/365/GO/MG highway, among other issues. In total, the authorities discussed the future of 9,000 km of highway. The minister invited the TCU to develop a sustainable model for federal highway concessions.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure’s release on the website, the government perceives an urgency to develop Brazil’s infrastructure.

If the TCU approves the concession report, the government will call an auction as early as June. The court will decide the fate of the concession by May 15.
