Total E&P do Brasil Ltda, Brazilian counterpart of French multinational Total Oil, has awarded UK-based TechnipFMC a subsea project to develop the Lapa pre-salt field in Brazil’s Santos Basin. TechnipFMC will supply flexible pipes for oil production, gas lift and gas injection as well as associated accessories according to Rigzone. The oilfield will be connected to the Cidade de Caraguatatuba floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) which already operates in the area.
Lapa went into production in December 2016 using Cidade de Caraguatatuba FPSO which has a capacity of 100,000 bbl per day (bpd), under a 20-year charter contract with MODEC. Petrobras transferred 35 percent of the rights to Lapa and operatorship to Total in January 2018 according to Rigzone. The Lapa Field Consortium also includes Shell Brasil Petroleo Ltda. (30 percent), Repsol Sinopec Brasil S.A. (25 percent) and Petrobras (10 percent).
According to TechnipFMC, the value of the subsea contract stands between US$75 and US$250m.
Petrobras has recently accepted an offer from a consortium led by France’s Engie SA to buy a 90% shareholding in Transportadora Associada de Gás SA (TAG), a primary gas pipeline unit owned by Petrobras in northern and northeastern Brazil.
