Peru is gearing up to host the industry’s most anticipated Event, AAPA LATAM, at the heart of Latin America’s port activity, from June 24 to 27, 2025. This international gathering promises to be the convergence point for leaders, innovators, and visionaries shaping the future of the global port sector. Choosing Peru as the venue for this landmark event highlights its strategic location on the Pacific and acknowledges its transformative role in maritime logistics and trade. With infrastructure projects reshaping the port landscape in the region, Peru is establishing itself as a key hub in Latin America. AAPA LATAM, now in its 31st edition across Central and South America, will bring together over 600 participants from 30 countries, including port authorities, executives, directors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts. Juan Duarte, Executive President of the Association, stated: “AAPA LATAM is not just a key event for the port industry but also an opportunity for Peru to showcase its leadership in the region. This congress will provide a unique space to discuss the most relevant trends and strengthen international cooperation.” The program will feature discussions on the sector’s most pressing issues, an exhibition area where global and regional brands and suppliers will showcase their innovations, and networking activities designed to foster strategic alliances.
Additionally, participants will have the chance to explore iconic tourist landmarks in Lima, enhancing their experience in one of Latin America’s most prominent cultural destinations. For those in the industry, the most anticipated highlight will be the tours of Peru’s leading port projects, such as the terminals at the Port of Callao and the recently inaugurated Port of Chancay. The Port of Callao, a pivotal node in international trade, exemplifies the country’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability.
Ranked second in Latin America by the Container Port Performance Index, it continues to expand its capacity to meet the growing demands of global trade. Meanwhile, the true port revolution comes with the Port of Chancay, a project that will directly connect the Americas with Asia, transforming trade routes and capturing the world’s attention. Zulma Dinelli, Director of the AAPA LATAM Congress, added: “We are preparing an unforgettable edition that includes technical visits, a rich agenda of strategic content, and networking activities in Lima’s iconic settings. This will undoubtedly be the Event that defines the future of the port sector in 2025.” The Event Redefining the Industry According to the organizers, AAPA LATAM 2025 will be more than just a congress—it will be the platform where the sector’s trends, innovations, and challenges are discussed at the highest level. This edition will span four days, including a dedicated day for technical visits to the Ports of Callao and Chancay, two benchmarks of port modernization in the region. For Peru, hosting this Event represents an unparalleled opportunity to showcase its capacity for innovation and leadership. From its modern infrastructure to its sustainable vision, the country is poised to be a strategic partner in the premier port business gathering in this part of the continent.
