The handling at Itajaí and Navegantes Port Complex reaches 1.29M tonnes in February

The Itajaí and Navegantes Port Complex reached the figures of 1,299,316 million tonnes and 111,345 TEUs handled during February.
These figures were disclosed in the monthly statistics report published by the Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí (port authority).
In total, during February, the Port Complex recorded 72 berthings, 18 of which occurred in the APM Terminal (right bank), while one berthing occurred at TUP Braskarne and four others at TEPORTI. The PORTONAVE Terminal (Navegantes Port Terminal) saw 49 calls with 83,616 TEUs and 931,750 tonnes handled.
A total of 68 vessels performed maneuvers during the month, 37 in Basin 01 (located in front of the Port of Itajaí and Navegantes) and the other 31 in Basin 02, the port complex’s new Maneuvering Basin.
The port of Itajái, including public berth areas and APM Terminals/leased area, handled 27,729 TEUs and 349,354 tonnes. These numbers point to certain stability in handling rates compared to the same period last year.
The products most exported during February were: wood and derivatives (41.23%), frozen chicken (21.24%), meat (beef and pork 10.58%), mechanical and electronic (6.94%), food in general (4.33%). On the other hand, the most significant imports were chemicals (32.53%), mechanical and electronic products (27.86%), textiles of various kinds (12.86%), food in general (11.4%), plastics, and rubbers (6.70%).c
