The revenue from chicken meat exports in the first 15 working days of May reached 99% of the total revenue in May 2021

According to information from the Federal Government’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) released on the 23rd, exports of poultry meat and its edible offal (either fresh, chilled, or frozen) – for all due effects – reached in the first 15 working days of May the total billing registered in May 2021.
According to Allan Maia, an analyst at SAFRAS & Mercado, an avian flu outbreak in the northern hemisphere boosted Brazilian exports, a phenomenon that is expected to continue for the rest of the year. Halal shipments from Brazil are also strong. In fact, the South American country is the world leader in this segment.
The revenue obtained from chicken meat exports so far represents 99.2% of the amount received in May 2021, US$ 594,997,924. The volume shipped (285,951.006 tonnes) corresponds to 74.7% of the total exported in May last year (382,762.79 tonnes).
The daily average revenue this month so far is US$ 39,340,366, an amount 38.8% higher than the US$ 28,333,234 registered in May 2021. However, a slight decrease of 0.53% was noted compared to the previous week.

The average of tonnes shipped per day was 19,063,400, an increase of 4.6% compared to the same month in 2021. Compared to the previous week’s result, there is a decrease of 0.16%.
The price paid per tonne, US$ 2,386.061 this May, is 32.8% higher than last May. Compared to the value reached in the previous week, the result represents an advance of 15.19%.
