Trade balance shows a surplus of US$ 1.75 billion

Exports increased by 25.5% until the second week of February/2022, compared to February/2021, totaling US$ 10.27 billion. Imports increased by 17.2% to $8.52 billion. As a result, the trade balance increased by 90.9 % to a surplus of US$ 1.75 billion, and the trade flow increased by 21.6% to 18.79 billion. The surplus was US$ 1.035 billion in the second week alone.
In the year-to-date including data up until the second week of February 2022, exports grew 20.9% compared to the same period of 2021, totaling US$ 29.91 billion. On the other hand, imports grew 21.0% and totaled US$ 28.37 billion. As a result, the trade balance showed a surplus of US$ 1.54 billion, with a growth of 20.6%, while trade flow registered an increase of 21.0%, reaching US$ 58.28 billion.
