Trade balance surplus at US$2.04 billion in first half of September

At the second week of September, the Brazilian trade balance registered a surplus of US $ 2.04 billion, in a growth of 20.6%, on an average daily basis, in relation to the same period of the last year. Total trade reached US$16.09 billion – an increase of 53.9%. The cumulative total for the year so far registered a surplus of US$ 54.15 billion, up 43.4%, and the trade flow reached US$ 341.86 billion, an increase of 36.5% compared to the same period last year. The data were released this Monday (13/9) by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy.
Exports in the first two weeks of September grew 49.3% and totaled US$ 9.07 billion, while imports rose 60.4% and totaled US$ 7.03 billion. The cumulative total since January showed exports to have risen 37.4% to US$ 198.01 billion, whilst imports rose 35.2%, reaching US$ 143.85 billion.
