The governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana, signed the 11th memorandum of understanding (MoU) this Wednesday (27), in Rotterdam, Holland, for the production of green hydrogen in the Pecém Complex, in Ceará. The protocol, which foresees investments of US$ 2 billion in the coming years, was signed with the Transhydrogen Alliance consortium, formed by the companies Proton Ventures, Trammo, Global Energy Storage, and VARO.
The project’s objective is to produce at least 500,000 tons of green hydrogen per year, which is equivalent to around 2.5 million tons of green ammonia, and export to Europe through the ports of Pecém and Rotterdam, which are trading partners.
Green Hydrogen
The Ceará Green Hydrogen HUB, installed in the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex, was launched this year in partnership with the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and the Federation of Industries of Ceará (Fiec). The idea is to seek to reduce the emission of pollutants with new investments and expand business opportunities and job creation in Ceará, in order to boost the state’s economy. Green hydrogen (H2V) is produced from renewable sources.
So far, 11 MoU’s have been signed with national and international companies for the implementation of projects at the Green Hydrogen HUB in Ceará.
