Two mills in Goiás received halal certification to export white crystal sugar to Arab countries, in accordance with Islamic law.
CRV Industrial and Cooper–Rubi, located in Vale do São Patrício (GO), underwent remote auditing to receive the certificate.
Brazil is already the largest exporter of Halal food in the world. In 2019, the country exported US$ 16.2 billion worth of Halal food, 12% more than India, in second place, trading US$ 4.4 billion.
