Ultracargo’s terminal at the Port of Santos is negotiating the construction of an exclusive railway branch for its facilities. The facilities specialize in the handling of liquid bulk and are located in the Alemoa region, on the right bank of the maritime complex. The project aims to facilitate cargo access to the unit, reducing transportation logistical costs.
The plan was announced by the president of Ultracargo, Décio Amaral, on a visit to the headquarters of Grupo Tribuna.
Currently, Ultracargo’s terminal in Santos only has road access. By gaining an exclusive railway line connected to the network that serves the Santos wharf and, from it to the railways that reach the producing areas of the Midwest, the terminal will be able to expand the areas served in Brazil, explained Décio Amaral.
According to the executive, the project will be developed over the next two years. Ultracargo’s terminal in Santos operates in the company’s own areas, outside of federal lands.
