The United States market, which reopened over a year ago for Paraguay, has been gaining increasing importance for Paraguayan beef production. It closed February as the third most significant export destination.
In the report for the second month of 2025, the U.S. market displaced Israel from third place by purchasing nearly 7 million kilograms of Paraguayan beef. It is even approaching the second position held by Taiwan, which imported 7,250,702 kilograms of Paraguayan beef in February.
By the end of 2024, the United States had ranked fifth among the top destinations for Paraguayan beef, behind Chile, Taiwan, Brazil, and Israel, with a total export volume of 28,310,157 kilograms. This ranking had pushed Russia down, which imported just over 23 million kilograms that year.
In January of this year, the U.S. market climbed to fourth place, surpassing Brazil in the ranking with an export volume of 1,757,794 kilograms. In the second month, Israel was displaced to fourth place.
The first shipment of frozen kosher beef, sent by Frigomerc S.A., reached 24,000 kilograms, a milestone in the growth of the U.S. market for Paraguayan beef in this second month of the year.
