A cattle vessel arrived at the Port of Montevideo and soon proceeded to be loaded with 9,600 head of cattle and 7,500 tonnes of animal feed. Once the process was complete, the ship left for Turkey, according to the National Port Administration of Uruguay (ANP).
Specifically, the Panama-flagged vessel Ghena docked at berths 6 and 7 in the Uruguayan capital’s port. The role played by the ship was described by the ANP as an “important link in for agricultural production chain” in the South American country.
The 1984-built ship has a 14,885 deadweight tonnes capacity and is 190 meters long and 32 meters wide.
Simultaneously, at the Bulk Terminal Pier (TGM in Spanish) in Montevideo, on the bulk carrier Seastar Titan, linked to Seastar Shipping, 2,256 tons of canola were loaded aboard the 178 m long and 28 m wide Gibraltar-flagged vessel.
