After 19 years, Montecon received a concession in the Port of Montevideo of an area of 8,900 m2 that will remain under its management for a period of 10 years.
The area is next to the Montevideo Deposits. The main operator of the public dock at the port of the Uruguayan capital can handle containers, general cargo and project cargo, among other activities within it.
As part of the conditions set out in the notice, Montecon must pave the area to be used after the Uruguayan Port National Administration approves the project.
Upon completion of the works, the company will invest in increasing the capacity of refrigerated containers, in addition to incorporating two electric RTGs (equipment used for moving containers and suspended loads).
