Uruguay sees 8% surge in YoY beef export revenue

Between January 1st and February 3rd, a total of 52,935 tonnes of beef were shipped from Uruguay. This marks an 11.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Regarding annual export income in the sector, there was a 7.9% growth in the same period. The difference is attributed to a downward adjustment in the average value by 3.3%.
Although there has been a 15.7% decrease compared to last year, China remained the primary market for exports in January, accounting for 39%. Sales to Israel constituted 2%, and the European Union comprised 12%. Notably, both Israel and the European Union significantly increased their demand this January 2024, with Israel up by 83.4% and the European Union by 47.9%.
