US exports 701 million liters of ethanol in April, up 48%

The United States (US) exported 185.2 million gallons (701 million liters) of ethanol in April, reported the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA). The volume represents an increase of 48% compared to March, making it the third-largest single month ever recorded in the export category.
Canada was the main destination for North American ethanol for the 13th consecutive month, with 40.1 million gallons (151.78 million liters), up 17% from March.
Exports to Brazil totaled 30 million gallons (113.55 million liters) in April, the highest monthly volume in two years. In the previous month, the country had not imported the biofuel from the USA.
In April, shipments to South Korea totaled 23.5 million gallons (88.95 million liters), down 7% from the previous month. China did not import US ethanol in April.
In the first four months of 2022, US ethanol exports totaled 577.2 million gallons (2.18 billion liters), up 15% year-on-year.
In April, the US did not import a significant amount of ethanol, according to the RFA. In the first four months of the year, US imports totaled 10.7 million gallons (40.5 million liters).
