Brazil’s production of vehicles remained stable in April, registering an increase of 0.4 percent, when 185,400 units were produced, compared to 184,800 in March. In comparison to April of last year, the production has fallen 2.9 percent, and since the beginning of the year a decrease of 13.6 percent has been noted, according to a report released on Tuesday (April 10) by the country’s national association of car makers Anfavea.
Sales closed the month with 147,200 licensed units, which corresponds to an increase of 0.3 percent compared to the previous month, and a retraction of 15.9 percent compared to April last year. The fall in licenses accumulated in the year reached 21.4 percent, reads Anfavea´s monthly balance sheet.
The data also show that exports grew 15.2 percent in April when 44,800 vehicles were sold. In comparison with April 2021, an increase of 32.3 percent was registered. And since the beginning of 2022, an increase of 17.9 percent in export has been noted.
“The sector generated 1,900 jobs, which is considered an expressive number because by generating one job, nine others are generated indirectly in the sector,” Anfavea president Márcio de Lima Leite said.
