Virtual queue outside Foz do Iguaçu’s dry port has more than 100 trucks

More than a hundred trucks are standing in a virtual queue this Tuesday (11) outside the dry port in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), on the border with Paraguay and Argentina. The information is from the Brazilian National Association of Federal Revenue Auditors (Unafisco).
The line reflects the fact that over 1,200 Federal Revenue employees have halted their work as a sign of protest. The group calls for the regulation of an efficiency and productivity bonus approved in early 2017.
According to Unafisco, the dry port has over 800 vehicles in its yard, which accounts for about 80% of its capacity. The union also disclosed that, on last week’s Wednesday, there were only 450 trucks waiting in the yard and a virtual line that was practically empty.
Unafisco says that as of 7 am this Tuesday, January 11, 95 trucks left Porto Seco heading towards the borders. But of those 95, only 15 had actually left the country by 11:30 am. Because of the stoppage, “the other 80 are in line, waiting for authorization to cross the border”.
