The Vessel Tracking Management Information System (VTMIS) of the Port of Vitória presented its first-semester results which registered zero accidents within its area of coverage which comprises the anchorage area, navigation channel, turning basin, and port terminals.
In the period from January to June of this year, it also registered a 12.5% increase in the total number of vessels berthed at the port: There were 1,168 vessel calls, compared to 976 in the same period last year.
Allied Services
The data consolidated by the Port of Vitória VTS registered four incidents in the last quarter (April, May, and June) and seven in the semester. The operational control center activates allied services for the requests for help and assistance.
Since the system started operating in September 2017, there has been no navigation accident in the VTMIS coverage area of the Port of Vitória. The result is attributed to the purported 24-hour inspection and the use of state-of-the-art equipment, such as infrared and 3D radars, cameras, and other equipment.
