Sep, 20, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202238
VLI – controller of Centro-Atlântica Railway (FCA) – filed two new authorization requests with the National Agency for Land Transport (ANTT). The new rail sections would cover more than 200 kilometers and cost around RS 5 billion to connect the cities of Correntina to Arrojolândia and Barreiras to Luís Eduardo Magalhães, all in western Bahia.
These train tracks will connect to other major projects in progress, such as sections I and II of the FIOL railroad, facilitating cargo flow to the port of Ilhéus.
ANTT and the Ministry of Infrastructure will now examine the authorization request before an adhesion contract can be signed.
Following this stage, the company will implement engineering, socio-environmental studies, and feasibility evaluations to proceed with project execution based on the results.
Once executed, the authorization projects between Correntina and Arrojolândia and Barreiras to Luís Eduardo Magalhães will cover 83 and 141 km, respectively, both in broad gauge.
