The logistics company VLI announced on Sept. 21st that it was renewing its partnership with mining company Mineração Caraíba at the Inácio Barbosa Maritime Terminal (TMIB), in Barra dos Coqueiros, Sergipe, according to a press release.
The new agreement provides for the movement of 100,000 tons of copper concentrate, which will be shipped for export until April 2023, the company said.
In addition to mineral inputs such as copper concentrate, iron ore, and manganese, VLI highlights that the port terminal has also shipped some agribusiness products. The company’s main shareholdeer is mining company Vale.
Between June and August of this year, TMIB shipped 90,000 tons of soybean meal and 60,000 tons of corn to the foreign market.
On the import side, the terminal receives fertilizers (which supply the agribusiness production chain), wheat, and coke.
