Vports, the firm responsible for managing the Port of Vitória, has just finalized a leasing agreement with Fortenave, a company of the FTS Group from Paraná. The company will take over an area of 22,000 m² in Vila Velha, where it will store and handle solid bulk cargo. Fortenave is a leader in the fertilizer market but aims to hold operations with other cargoes, such as sugar and grain meals. Vports aims to increase the quantity and diversity of cargo passing through the port complex in Espírito Santo state.
“The new contract will substantially affect bulk cargo freight at the port in Vila Velha. We are enhancing the port’s infrastructure to create more competitive conditions for both the port and our state,” said Ilson Hulle, president of Vports.
Investments, mainly in warehouses, will begin shortly, with operations expected to start in the first half of the year. “With this new contract, FTSpar will expand the mix of export cargo handled at the port, in addition to exploring new modalities in importation and integration with other ports operated by the company. We are very excited about this new cycle, which was only possible due to our partnership with Vports,” says Valdecio Bombonatto, CEO of FTSpar.
This is the seventh contract signed by Vports since taking over the Port of Vitória at the end of 2022.
