The automotive industry is driving the expansion of activities in the Wilson Sons Logistics Center in Santo André, Brazil, with two new contracts after gaining the label of the fastest-growing segment in terms of operations in the complex in 2021, with +386% in movement and a 127% increase in revenue. The new customers are a significant regional automaker and one of the world’s largest tire manufacturers.
Among services provided to the automaker, the Logistics Center will be responsible for receiving, unloading, and storing around 120 containers stuffed with automotive parts per month. The cargo originates in the Port of Santos and will supply industrial plants in the state of São Paulo.
For the tire manufacturer, Wilson Sons will develop services for receiving, storing, and managing stock at the Distribution Center, where up to 15,000 tires from 450 different SKUs will be allocated. The cargo originates from the brand’s factory in the ABC Paulista region and will be distributed throughout the state of São Paulo.
To meet the needs of the new businesses, the number of employees increased by 60%.
In addition to reinforcing the workforce, the verticalization of areas, through the assembly of pallet structures and canvas warehouses, increased the storage capacity of the Wilson Sons logistics complex by 33%.
