Container terminal Tecon Salvador, operated by Wilson Sons, counts with a new regular cabotage service called Expresso Amazonas since Saturday (03/06). The service, provided by Log-In Logística Intermodal, aims to meet the increasing demand from the Northeast and North regions, particularly in establishing a direct connection with the Industrial Pole of Manaus, a crucial destination for cargo originating from Bahia.
The vessel departs from the port of Salvador and makes calls in Suape and Pecém in the Northeast before reaching Manaus in the North of Brazil. After leaving Manaus, begin a non-stop route to Santos without any stops in between. The vessel then proceeds to the Port of Navegantes in southern Brazil before returning to the Port of Salvador, in the capital of Bahia.
According to the cabotage operator, the service will begin with one vessel for the southbound journey and another for the northbound trip. The departures will take place fortnightly with regular boarding. Felipe Gurgel, the commercial director of Log-In, emphasizes their attention to the needs of Manaus customers and their commitment to providing a fast, efficient, safe, and sustainable logistics solution. The service includes strategically planned calls, increased capacity, and improved transit time.
Tecon Salvador plays a crucial role in connecting Brazil’s Northeast and North regions to the rest of the globe. In July, the terminal at Tecon Salvador will undergo construction works that will enable the use of new cranes along the entire length of the main quays. As a result, the terminal will accommodate two ships measuring up to 366 meters, along with a smaller vessel that can dock at the 240-meter wharf. This expansion will significantly enhance the terminal’s capabilities and improve its efficiency in handling multiple vessels simultaneously.
