CS Portos, part of the Simpar Group, will maintain its own stand at the 28th edition of Intermodal South America 2024 – an event that brings together the cargo transport, logistics, intralogistics & warehousing, and foreign trade chain – to showcase the infrastructure modernization actions that have been implemented in recent years in Aratu. The company will showcase terminal ATU12, which will be ready to operate at full capacity by November this year, and terminal ATU18, which will be ready by April 2025.
With an investment forecast of over R$ 800 million in the first 3 years of operation, CS Portos believes that the terminals will increase their productivity with a loading and unloading rate comparable to the best ports in the world, increasing from the current 300 tonnes per hour to 2,000 tonnes/hour. The throughput capacity is expected to increase from 2 million tonnes per year to 12.5 million tonnes per year.

The company hopes to boost logistics operations for minerals transported in bulk, turning Aratu into a new gateway for soybean and corn exports. “These investments create more business opportunities for the companies present at the port, leaving a mark on the state’s economy and creating more jobs,” explains Marcos Tourinho, CEO of CS Porto Aratu.
The company’s terminals are being extensively modernized with cutting-edge equipment, allowing ships weighing up to 120,000 DWT to access storage areas of 520,000 tonnes at terminal ATU12 between warehouses and yards and 90,000 tonnes at terminal ATU18. All of these changes will allow for daily movements of 20,000 to 30,000 tons, propelling the port terminal to operational excellence and high productivity.
