Jul, 06, 2021 Posted by Ruth HollardWeek 202128
ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. and Seaspan Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlas Corp., announced a new long-term strategic charter contract with a cash value of more than $1.5 billion for ten 7000-TEU liquid natural gas (LNG) container ships. The ships will be deployed in several of ZIM’s global container services. This contract is in addition to the one announced in February 2021, when ZIM and Seaspan agreed to charter ten 15,000-TEU long-term ships that also use LNG as fuel.
Clarksons Platou acted as a financial and professional advisor to ZIM in connection with this transaction.
