Brazilian Defense Minister José Múcio announced on Tuesday (26) that the total authorized exports in the Defense industry for 2023 already amount to USD 1.1 billion, a 60% increase compared to the entire year of 2022.
Múcio emphasized that the new PAC, announced by President Lula, will fund BRL 53 billion in strategic technologies to ensure national sovereignty. According to the minister, who reiterated that this value does not include the Embraer sales announced today by BNDES, BRL 27.8 billion is expected to “guarantee strategic programs” until 2026, with an additional BRL 25 billion after 2026.
