Second round of ‘soy dollar’ program raises USD 3.395 bln in Argentina

Argentina’s agro-export sector sold 5,632,879 tonnes of soy in the second round of the Export Increment Program (PIE in Spanish), better known as the ‘soy dollar’ program. According to preliminary data, the amount collected was US$ 3.395 billion.

The country’s secretary of agriculture, Juan José Bahillo, highlighted that the objectives of the soy dollar program of increasing foreign exchange reserves and improving producers’ income were met. This strategy, according to him, streamlines the activity, boosting the value of these operations. The information is from the CMA Latam Agency.
