In the last week, Portonave received the MSC SHUBA B, which in addition to being the eighth stop for a vessel of over 306 meters, resulted in the largest movement of containers for a single vessel at 3,667 containers handled. There were 2,138 off loadings and 1,529 loadings, thus the MSC SHUBA B surpassed the mark previously registered by the company, which was 2,839 movements, achieved in May 2016. With 330m in length and 48.2m in width, the ship was the second giant belonging to MSC to dock at the port and the newest one in the Itajaí evolution basin and the Navegantes Port Complex.
Another vessel with a 12,217 TEU capacity, came from the Port of Paranaguá (PR) and went to Santos. The total vessel operation lasted 24 hours and 35 minutes, and for a few hours, six dock cranes (port) were used, recording 250 movements per hour (mph) at the peak of activity.
Since the beginning of the maneuvers in the new Evolution Basin, on May 31, Portonave has already received eight giant vessels. The highlight being APL Paris, the largest cruise ship on the Brazilian coast, which docked at the Terminal on June 16. The new Evolution Basin brings promotion to the Port Complex of Itajaí and Navegantes, enabling ports on both banks to further promote the Brazilian economy.
