Corn exports surpass that of soybeans in the 1st week of August

Data released on Monday, August 10, by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) indicates that Brazilian corn exports reached 2 million tonnes in the first week of August and exceeded soybean shipments in this period.
The daily average of corn shipments went from 332,800 tonnes in August 2019 to 408,500 tonnes in the first five working days of this month. When it comes to soy, exports totaled 1.59 million tonnes, with a daily average of 318,700 tonnes, compared to 227,500 tonnes in August last year.
Regarding sugar, foreign sales more than doubled in the first week of August. Another positive highlight is coffee, the export pace of which increased by 50.9%.
In the extractive industry, oil and iron ore also registered increases in shipments.
