Log-In Logística Intermodal has just opened the first vehicle terminal in the Port of Vitória (ES). The terminal is located in a 54,086 m² area and has a static storage capacity for up to 1,600 cars. The lease was signed in April with Companhia Docas do Espírito Santo (CODESA), which manages the port.
After the operating authorizations issued by ANTAQ, the national water transport agency, Log-In, responsible for the logistics management of the terminal, signed the first exclusive contract with Comexport. Headquartered in São Paulo, the company operates in the automotive segment and expects to handle an average monthly volume of 3000 vehicles at the terminal.
The import cargo is transported on Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) ships from South America and Europe to the Vila Velha port terminal (TVV), operated by Log-In and part of the Port of Vitória complex. In just two weeks, five operations have already been carried out, totaling more than 1000 vehicles, including passenger cars and vans. Upon arrival at TVV, the cargo is unloaded, inspected, and taken by trains towards the vehicle terminal, which is about 1 km away. There, the vehicles are parked, nationalized, and finally loaded onto stork trucks that will transport them to their final destinations.
