Asia Shipping wants to increase the volume of imported cargo by 10% and exports by 15%. The cargo integrator expects to end the year with growth above 10%. Currently, the main cargoes transported by the company are electronics, pharmaceutical, and automotive.
To achieve this goal, the company plans to expand its participation in the automotive and pharmaceutical segments. In February, the company transported 2 million Covid-19 vaccines from China to Chile by air.
In the automotive area, Asia Shipping has CAOA CHERY as one of its main customers. Despite the challenging scenario, the automaker went through pandemic turbulence and ended 2020 with a 35% growth in market share, reaching a market share of 1.03% against the 0.76% in the previous year. With 20,089 vehicles sold, the brand was also ranked 11th place in the ranking of national automakers.
Last year, Asia Shipping transported about 5,000 containers to CAOA CHERY, a volume that is expected to grow by 20% in 2021.
For 2021, CAOA CHERY projects an increase in sales of around 70%. In January of this year alone, the brand registered a growth of 36.6% in comparison with January 2020. The expectation is to reach 2% of market share by the end of the year with new launches and expansion of the dealer network – from 113 stores to 150.
