May, 25, 2021 Posted by Ruth HollardWeek 202123
On May 24, the logistics company VLI announced they signed a contract with LD Celulose to transport soluble cellulose from a factory in Indianópolis, Minas Gerais. It is projected that VLI will move 500,000 tons of the product towards the port of Barra do Riacho (ES) every year.
The transport will be carried out through the Ferrovia Centro-Atlântica (FCA) network, with operations scheduled to start in the first half of 2022, when the new plant will start operating. The contract is valid for 30 years.
The logistical flow of the operation will cover 1,400 kilometers, directly connecting the port of Barra do Riacho, managed by Portocel, with the new LD Celulose factory, a joint venture formed by the Austrian Lenzing and the Brazilian Duratex.
