EU imports 15 million tons of soybeans in 2020/21

Soybean imports by the European Union in the 2020/21 season, which began in July last year, reached 15.03 million tons by June 27, according to information from the European Commission released on Monday.
The following chart shows European Union countries’ imports of Brazilian soy:

This compares with the 15.25 million tons released in the same period last season.
EU canola imports in 2020/21 reached 6.30 million tons, compared to 5.99 million a year earlier.
Soybean meal imports so far in 2020/21 were 16.52 million tons, down from 17.93 million a year ago, while palm oil purchases reached just 5.21 million tons, down from 5.79 million from last year.
As of January 1, the commission’s information covers only the 27 EU countries. Previously, as of December 31, the information included the 27 EU countries and the United Kingdom.
