ANEC raises Brazil’s corn export forecast in July
Jul, 14, 2021 Posted by Ruth HollardWeek 202128
Brazilian corn exports should reach 3.03 million tons in July, the first month with a high figure for the second-crop cereal, estimated ANEC (the national association of cereal exporters) on the 13th, when raising its projection from the 2.37 million from the previous week.
Despite the advance, the result is still 2 million tons below the 5.1 million exported by the country in July 2020, according to data from the association.
ANEC’s projection, based on ship schedules at ports, comes in the wake of a delay in the “off-season” and a drop in corn production caused by drought and frost in some of the main producing states.
In relation to June, however, there is a significant increase as only 90 thousand tons had been exported by Brazil.
